SOLD - 1999 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe - $16,500 - Issaquah, WA

1999 Casita 17' Spirit Deluxe, $16,500. Very good condition overall with minimal use during the previous owner and my 8 + years of ownership. I had planned to use it while helping family remodel but their project has been put on hold.

This Spirit deluxe has the following equipment;

* = featured equipment
** = the not-so-good

*toilet and indoor shower
*double bed/large dinette (seats 4)
*single bed/side dinette (seats 2)
*Dometic 2 burner propane cooktop
*large Dometic 3-way refrigerator/freezer
*propane water heater
*includes 3,100 BTU Olympian true Catalytic propane heater. VERY efficient use of propane and silent plus no electricity needed for heat while 'wild camping'. The catalytic heater burns very cleanly requiring limited venting. (Google "Olympian 3100 Catalytic heater" for more info)

**12 foot Dometic/Fiamma manual awning. There was some damage to the aluminum housing from something hitting the awning. This occurred with a previous owner. I have repaired the damage to make the awning fully functional but it still has a visible bend in the outer cover. The latches incorporated into the end-caps don't hold the awning closed so I have used Velcro straps. (Inconvenient, but not a bad idea even on a new awning to ensure it doesn't unroll while driving.) Also the middle support/tension arm is missing which means the awning should be rolled-up if it snows or rains hard, which should be done anyway according to Fiamma. One of the attachment brackets that hold the base of the poles to the side of the Casita is broken but they can be staked and securely guyed to full effect.

The earlier Casitas equipped with a/c located the air conditioner beneath the entry closet. One big advantage this provides over the later models with roof mount is a reduce clearance of 8 feet. This Casita will fit in many standard garages.

Besides the Olympian heater, when plugged into shore power I used a small 750w electric heater which provides ample heat for cold fall or spring evenings. I stayed very comfortable at temps down in the teens while over-wintering during a cold Seattle winter in 2015 or 2016 in another Casita I owned. There is a single 2 x 4 solar panel with inverter to maintain charge for interior lights and minimal water pump usage, etc. when running wild. I have not done it but, upgrading to LED interior lights would greatly extend the useful charge of the battery. My searching online found a dozen LED bulbs for less than $15.

**The gelcoat has several small cracks around the perimeter seam which in my knowledge of fiberglass are only cosmetic. Both, the previous owner and I traveled with a dog. There are no odors or leaks and this very good condition Spirit Deluxe has not been in any accidents.

With the high demand and limited availability of the Casita Spirit Deluxe, I am asking what I paid for this trailer. The only reason I am selling it is I am moving back to Alaska and don't think I will be able to justify keeping it. They are fantastic little travel trailers with several people blogging of their travels as well as an abundance of information online if you are not familiar with these "little eggs".
