1976 beachcomber trailer- Fully restored between 2014-2016.
I worked closely with trillium trailers in Calgary to execute this restoration. Its was closely modelled after the trailers they are building and one of their units new with the same options would cost approximately $28,500 +gst https://trilliumtrailers.com/
Details on the restoration: The interior was completely gutted to remove any rotten wood and the shell was taken off the frame. - Frame was sand blasted and acid etched with an epoxy paint applied. A new 3500# torsion axle with electric brakes was installed and a rear 2" reciever for a bike rack as well as a spare tire mount was installed. The front tray was modified to accept 2 6v golf cart batteries. - The shell comes from the factory as 2 separate parts that are screwed together at the belly band (middle). The top and bottom shells were fiber glassed together on the inside and outside eliminating this leak point forever. All windows were removed and resealed, all wood floor was removed and replaced, industrial linoleum made for schools and hospitals was used for the floor. Any fiberglass damage was repaired. The entire trailer is insulated with closed cell foam that is covered in marine carpet which will never attract mold or rot. This is the exact same interior as trillium uses in their new builds. - The new layout was designed around a permeant rear bed that lifts up for a large amount a storage underneath. There is a wardrobe and the same fiberglass galley found in the trillium trailer. A front dinette finishes the trailer off. This can be folded down for a total sleeping room for 3. - The trailer is equipped with a Coleman gravity furnace that was original. It has been serviced and works very well. This furnace is 100% mechanical and does not use any battery power. It is amazing for boondocking. - The trailer has a DC fridge from NovaKool that has a freezer and runs on the high efficiency danfoss compressor so it uses minimal power. We have camped for 11 days without having to plug in and the batteries were kept topped up. https://www.novakool.com/r3000-1 - 100 W solar system with an industrial grade solar panel and SC-2030 and TM-2030 charge controller and battery monitor from Bogart engineering. - PD4045 45 Amp Inteli-Power Mighty Mini Power Center for AC power into the trailer and DC converter and smart battery charger. - Fantastic electric roof vent fan with cover to keep the trailer cool in the summer. - 2x golf cart batteries. - Full LED light package inside with a 12v dc "cigarette lighter" outlet to charge USB electronics from the trailer battery.
This was a painstaking restoration and few details have been overlooked.
