SOLD: 1979 13' Burro Camper- Fully Restored - $20,000 - Palm Beach, FL

Meet Remi! Remi is a fully restored 1979 Burro camper (but titled as 2024). Double-walled fiberglass, she is extremely lightweight, easily towable, and ready for adventure! Over the past 4 years, Remi has taken us from Florida to Montana to California (multiple times) and everywhere in between. After spending a full 2 years doing a meticulous frame-off restoration with extended off-grid camping in mind, we are sad to say goodbye, but as our family expands we are hoping to find her a great home. If you want something vintage but fully restored (not perfect), this is your unicorn.

Details:

• 13 ft hitch to bumper

• Dry weight 1,240 lbs

• 74” tall from floor to high point on ceiling. My 6’1” husband stands comfortably inside and fits on the bed (with wife and 2 dogs lol)

• Stabilizing jacks on rear of camper (1 per side / 2 total) that each support 2,000 lbs. comes with tool to raise and lower them, one 2,000 lb hand crank jack on the front of trailer

• 3 locks included!!! Gravel guard, 2 hitch locks, and boot lock. We also have an exterior lock for the door as well as an interior chain link bolt on the door

• Camper Cover included, step stool for doorway included

• Renogy Solar off-grid system- two 100 watt panels (roof-mounted) with 1000 amp hour lithium battery. Complete with inverter, charge controller, battery monitor (installed in camper), and fuse box. This setup has worked amazingly for us. It has plenty to power the IceCo fridge/freezer (negotiable), the fan, the water pump, and can charge all devices (phones, laptops, cameras etc). We have both AC and DC outlets installed in the camper. Lights are battery operated or USB rechargeable

• Custom screen (opens in) door by the original owner

• ICeCo chest-style fridge/freezer (can be one or the other). Extremely efficient and can hold about 4-5 days of groceries at a time. Open to negotiations depending on price.

• New custom sunbrella upholstery for bed and dinette.  Covers can be removed and washed.

• Rearrangeable bed: custom foam mattress, use queen size bedding. Can become seating area as well but we always left it as the bed and used dinette for seating. Dinette can become a bench. Cushion included.

• Closet storage w/solar battery at bottom of closet

• New propane stove top with double propane tank storage on hitch, new kitchen

• Running water/ new plumbing with internal filter and another filter on the external fill-up hose (included).

• 15 gallon removable water tank. This would usually last us 4 days off grid (2 people and 2 dogs).

• Custom trailer frame and axle - when we renovated in 2021, we took the frame off the trailer and had a welder custom-build a new one with a new axle as well. The trailer is lifted for high clearance and reinforced with steel plates at common breakpoints for these trailers. The frame project alone was $3,200 and should last many years!

• Waterproof subfloor- You’ll never have to worry about water damage. When we replaced the subfloor, we did so with Coosa Board. This is a fiberglass composite used on boats. Acts like plywood, but is lighter and waterproof. Your subfloor will not rot which is extremely common on all older trailers that use plywood (scamps, burros, airstreams…)

• Vinyl plank flooring

• Fiberglassed headliner (No brown carpet!)

• Custom teak dinette table top- Dinette can become a bed/couch.

• Spare tire w/cover

• Moonshade Awning - $400 value. Moonshade anchors are mounted to the roof for quick and easy setup. We love this awning and it’s great in the sun or for rain.

• Outdoor rug included

• New wiring for brake lights

• New 6 speed Ceiling Fan (no a/c)

• New Motion Windows (these are $2,000).

• NOTE:  If it rains hard enough, you will see a couple of drips of water come from the rear and front windows ONLY. We have not been able to solve this, but it has never caused concern for us because the entire camper has been meticulously water proofed, so you will never have to worry about anything rotting or getting damaged. We just feel this is worth noting. We will always answer all questions with full transparency!!

• Clean Florida Title- Titled as a brand new 2024 camper

• Decor and bedding included
