SOLD - 2002 17ft Casita Spirit Deluxe - $12,000 - Rockford, MI

Lucky You! If you are looking for a vintage Casita in great shape, we have the one for you. Ours is a 2002 17' Casita Spirit Deluxe. If you aren’t familiar with Casitas, they are the perfect smaller travel trailer, that is easy to pull and use in RV parks or primitive campgrounds; also easier to store. Casitas are sometimes call “egg” campers because of their 2-piece fiberglass exterior; well-sealed, easy maintenance. Ours may be a 2002, but Casitas hold their value.

We are only the third owners. The first owners were a young couple who found out they were expecting twins after just one year year. The second owner was an engineer who added some smart and convenient items, as if they came with the camper. It was also parked in a heated garage, where he was working on rebuilding an old Airstream. He used it for a few trips, but mostly took it up north in Michigan, for hunting. We have used it for a couple longer trips out west and some trips in Michigan.

I believe the previous owners were non-smokers and we do not smoke. We have seen no evidence of any pets with the previous owners and we left our cat at home.

One nice thing about the 17' Casita is that the center aisle height is just over 6ft. For some, that extra ceiling height makes a difference.

This Casita layout has a dining area for 4 in the back, that converts to a double bed, with windows on 3 sides for great air circulation. We added a layer of foam to the seat cushions and left it as a bed/lounging area. There is also the possibility for a single bed or a 2-person dinette on the side. This we left as a dinette for eating, cards, computer work, etc. The previous owner added an easy-to-use window-sized exterior awning outside of the dinette, that provides some privacy from neighbors but doesn’t impede air circulation. It looks like it was originally included. There are mini-blinds on all of the windows.

There is a crank awning on the door side that runs the entire length of the camper and provides a great space for being out of the sun or rain.

The kitchen has a sink, with light, and a 2-burner gas cook top with an attached cover than can be used for prep space. There is also a venting hood with a light. For a small camper, the gas/electric refrigerator/freezer is much larger than the college dorm type.

We replaced the microwave, so it is newer. The cupboard door for the microwave flops down to provide more prep space.

We have added a newer TV that connects to cable. Hookup cables included.

That was all the fun stuff. Now for the basic needs. Our Casita just came back from our local RV dealership, where all the systems were checked and any maintenance that was needed was done. It's fully functional and ready to go.

It has:
Hookups for city water and electric, as well as cable
Black and grey water holding tanks.
16 gallon fresh-water holding tank with electric pump.
Gas/electric water heater.
The roof air conditioner can also do a little room warming when you just want to take the chill off the camper in the morning.
There is also a gas heater.
3-speed Fantastic fan/roof vent
Two 20 lb. propane tanks w/auto change-over regulator and LP
tank cover.
Spare tire with cover
Dexter axle
Electronic brakes and repacked wheel bearings.
Cover for the camper
We have the factory manuals for all the appliances and other parts of the camper.
We have 2 sets of keys, plus some odds and ends.

This camper is very clean and has been gently used. It is certainly worth taking a look or calling for a video view, if you are out of town.
